Project Description

This post war home at the gap had the same problem that many of the designs of that time had, No space for entertainment. To solve this problem we built a 50m2 deck right across the back of the house complete with internal timber stairs that lead down to another concrete entertainment area. This area features a rendered block retaining wall topped with a dressed piece of hardwood to form a seat along the entire length of the deck. The upper deck is covered by a scillian colourbond roof that allows air and light to flow through. The use of Merbau timber decking, posts and handrail combined with stainless steel balustrade make this a very comfortable deck to spend time on.

This rendered home at Bardon has undergone some extensive renovations throughout. My part in this project was to build a new two car open carport at the front. This carport had to match the existing house with rendered corner columns, metal quad gutters and we reused some old tiles of the house on the new carport tiled roof so it would blend in perfectly. For access to the carport and the house is a large driveway and carport slab with steps at the back leading onto the front deck and a side path with garden area guiding you to the front door.

Project Description

This two story timber home at the Gap was built with only a small BBQ area for outdoor entertainment. A 54m2 timber Merbau deck with matching dressed Merbau posts and handrails and treated pine balustrades more than made up for it. Because of the shape and position of the deck however it was going to be an extensive and expensive project to blend a new roof into the existing one. To combat this we chose an Apolo roofing system with a box gutter for a cost effective solution. The result was a clean, modern, natural look that complimented the house

Project Description

This small job at Stafford Heights was designed to cover an ugly timber retaining wall and the dirt it retained at the back of a two car garage. We used treated pine sleepers to clean up the retaining wall and mixed hardwood timber battens and to cover the dirt and a metal gate with timber battens to gain access to the storage area.

Project Description

This old timber stumped home at Ashgrove was a real mess with unmanageable closed in rooms and poor living areas creating a renovating challenge all on its own. To begin the complete renovation of this house we pulled down the old brick fireplace and chimney and replaced it with a new timber door to make use of the space available. We then replaced all the old timber casement windows and doors with new modern aluminium louvre windows and sliding doors.

Next all four bedrooms were renovated with new plaster ceilings, Easy Vj walls, wardrobes and carpet with the master bedroom enlarged and gaining a new ensuite. The existing bathroom, kitchen, laundry, study and living rooms getting a complete overhaul with a new modern design as well as a new feature wall in the TV room. To keep in tune with the house the kitchen and dining room ceilings were restored to their original condition.

New timber decks were built at the front entrance and around the front side of the house. Both decks were built with Zincalume roof and gutters and dressed Merbau and Spotted Gum timber members. A stylish kitchenette on the deck and glass balustrades on both decks and down the timber stairs continue the modern design. New Zincalume gutters and downpipes and dressed mixed hardwood timber battens around the entire house really bring it all together. A matching two car garage with a store room will be built in the near future.
